Resurrection Church Pictures Before Refurbishment

Nov. 17-18, 2025 - Nave and Sanctuary Cleared; Kneelers & Pews Removed

Our church beautification process began November 17, 2025. Parish volunteers helped to clear the church as much as possible to allow an open work area as our project got underway. Many hands make light work, as the saying goes. Thanks to all who helped! 


Wood Renovators was on-site to remove our pews. Removal started with marking all pew pieces before disassembly. Pew parts were then transported to their Waupaca facility for stripping, repairs and refinishing.

Nov. 19, 2025 - Carpet in Nave and Steps in Sanctuary Removed

Nov. 24, 2025 - Prepping the floor prior to scaffolding

Dec. 1, 2025 - Scaffolding arrived and was unloaded with the help of volunteers

Riehle Decorating arrived on Monday, December 1, to begin the process of repairing the plaster and painting the church interior. Several parish volunteers helped to unload the scaffolding pieces.

Dec. 2-5, 2025 - Riehle Decorating set up the scaffolding

Dec. 9, 2025 - Repairing loose plaster and loose paint

Dec. 11, 2025 - Applying an oil base seal coat to walls and ceiling

Dec. 11, 2025 - Scaffolding in the stairwell of the bell tower

Dec. 15, 2025 - Applying glue and fiberglass to the ceiling

Over 35 5-gallon pails of glue will be applied to the ceiling and walls. Sheets of fiberglass material will be applied over the glue.

Dec. 17, 2025 - Applying glue and fiberglass to the east wall of church and the sanctuary

Dec. 18, 2025 - Glue and fiberglass applied to the east and west walls of church.

Over 80% of the church has the fiberglass layer installed.

Dec. 22, 2025 - Completing the fiberglass layer

Week of Jan. 5, 2026 - Electrical updates to be completed throughout the church

Tennies Electric worked on electrical updates to the church lights and the ceiling light fixtures were taken down for cleaning.

Painters working in the main entrance, cry room and stairwell to the choir; Ceiling lights refurbished and awaiting to be set back in place

Tennies Electric on site for electrical updates, painting of the main church continues, and Gary Konrath doing his magic with cleaning up the light fixtures during our extreme cold spell.

Wed., Jan. 28, 2026

Dennis and Marg Wiedmeyer made a trip to Wood Renovators in Waupaca to check on the progress of refurbishment of the pews. The pew pieces have been stripped. One of the pew ends shows the new stain color.

Week of Feb. 2, 2026 - Riehle Decorating has completed their work

The painter's truck was loaded with the scaffolding with the help of several volunteers on Thurs., Feb. 5, 2026. With their work completed, the Riehle Decorating crew left for home on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026. Work has now begun on fixing the subfloor and rebuilding the steps in the sanctuary area.

Week of Feb. 9, 2026 - Flooring work continues

This week Randy Heinecke's crew continued to frame the steps for the sanctuary.

The stairs to the choir loft and the choir loft flooring were also sanded in preparation for new stain.

Week of Feb. 16-20, 2026 - Luxury vinyl tile installed in nave & choir loft floor refinished

The work continues with two flooring companies, electrician and carpenters on site.

The choir loft floor was refinished, the sanctuary crucifix was hung and the luxury vinyl tile was installed.

Week of February 23, 2026 - Ceramic tile installed in sanctuary

The ceramic tile was installed in the sanctuary and the altars were delivered. The back altar shows a prototype of the tabernacle cabinet. The shelves to hold the Stations of the Cross were rehung.

Week of March 9, 2026 - Pews reinstalled

Refinished pews were delivered and installed by the Wood Renovators crew. The new main altar was set in place and the newly painted angels positioned in place. John Nettesheim made a surprise visit and checked out the newly installed front pew.

Week of March 16 - The work continues on preparing the sanctuary

The new ambry was hung and the new credence tabel set in place. The photo shows empty ambry cruets in the ambry. The new main altar was raised in order to level the altar stone with the top of the altar.

Week of March 23, 2026 - The replated Tabernacle is installed

Week of March 30, 2026 - Final preparations

The newly painted Last Supper statue is inserted into the main altar. Reupholstered chairs are set in place.

Sunday, April 5 - Resurrection Church reopens for Easter Sunday!

After being closed for 139 days, Resurrection Church reopened on Resurrection Sunday!
