- St. Peter Parish: Thursdays from 8:30 a.m.-6:45 p.m.

Rural Life Masses - May 17-18

There will be a special blessing of seeds as we celebrate our annual Rural Life Masses the weekend of May 17-18 at all three parishes. Please bring any seeds or plants you would like blessed with you to Mass. A variety of blessed garden seeds provided by the Human Concerns Committee will also be available after Masses for as as long as supply lasts.
The Rural Life banner we display at Resurrection Church is a replica of the large one used on the platform erected for Pope St. John Paul II's visit to Iowa on Oct. 4, 1979. The center cross symbolizes furrowed soil and seeds. Four fields within the arms of the cross represent contours of plowed fields; the colors representing four season. See the 1979 article in the Des Moines Register.
Note: Fellowship Sunday, hosted by the Resurrection Human Concerns Committee, will be offered following the 8:30am Mass at Resurrection Church on May 18.
Parish Membership
Families and single persons 18 years of age and older are encouraged to be registered at the parish in order to receive the sacramental services the Church offers to all members of our Parish family. Parish membership also assists the parish in informing the Archdiocese of our demographics and needs so that they can better serve our parish.
Lead the Rosary
Volunteers are needed to lead the Rosary on Saturdays, beginning at 6:05 p.m. 'How to Pray the Rosary' guides are available. Please contact Cindy at 262-483-8553 if you can help with this ministry.
Chili Supper Organizational Meeting
Sunday, September 14 at 10 a.m.
There will be an organizational meeting for our annual Chili Supper immediately following Fellowship on Sunday, September 14. New committee members welcome! Come and help us make plans for this year's event.

Ways you can help make our event a success:
Volunteer your time: ADULT HELP is needed!
Donate a Basket for our raffle: Please drop your basket off in the church basement, after weekend Masses, before Mon., Nov. 3.
Bring Items for the Bake Sale: Items such as breads, pies, bars, cookies, and snacks are needed for the bake sale. Please package (ziploc bags or plastic wrap) and label your donations so they are ready for sale.
Bake a Dessert for the supper: Desserts such as cakes, bars, and tortes are needed to serve with the supper, including with the drive-thru orders.
Bake sale items & desserts can be dropped off Mon., Nov. 3 between 5:30-7:00 p.m. or on Tues., Nov. 4 between 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
We would greatly appreciate having all donations at church before the event begins.
Offer a Cash donation: Cash donations will go directly to deferring our supply costs. Business sponsorships would also be appreciated.
Chili Supper, Basket Raffle & Bake Sale - Thank you!
Sample verbiage to add after event
The Chili Supper Committee would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to the many people whose helping hands, talents, and various donations made our Nov. 5, 2024 event another great success. We served 262 people in the hall and 367 meals were picked up in the drive-thru and carry-out areas. Profits were $5,3247 from the Chili Supper, $522 from the bake sale, $1,329 from the basket raffle, $91 donation from Knights of Columbus from the sale of hot dogs and beverages, and $500 in matching funds from Catholic Financial Life. In total, the event raised $7,789 to help support our parish and the Faith Formation program! We are extremely grateful for the many delicious tortes and desserts that were served with the chili meals, and for the cash and in-kind donations received to help offset our expenses. A special thank you goes out to Catholic Financial Life for the matching funds.
Get Involved and Make a Difference in Our Parish!
As summer winds down and September approaches, our parish committees will begin planning for a new year of service and community. This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved—whether monthly or occasionally—based on your interests and availability.
Have school-age children? Consider joining Faith Formation to help shape the spiritual growth of our youth.
Passionate about helping others and protecting life? The Human Concerns Committee is a vibrant group
dedicated to serving the poor and advocating for the unborn.
Prefer one-time events? The Chili Supper or Lenten Mission are a couple fun and festive ways to contribute.
Handy or mechanically inclined? The Building and Grounds Committee could use your skills to maintain and
improve our parish facilities.
Love music, liturgy, or decorating? Prayer and Worship is the perfect place to share your creative gifts.
Care about sick and elderly? Minister to the Homebound by bringing Holy Communion to those unable to attend
Mass.
Since you are attending Mass anyway... We are always in need of Lectors, Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers,
Altar Servers, Greeters, and Rosary Leaders. Check out our Liturgical Ministry Volunteer flyer.
There are many other ways to get involved. Reach out to the parish office for contact information.
Your time and talents can truly make a difference in the lives of others and your own!
Blessed Prayer Shawls Available
Prayer Shawls…made for centuries, universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover and give solace. Resurrection has a selection of beautiful, blessed prayer shawls lovingly handmade and donated by parishioners that are available free of charge.
If you or someone you know would appreciate a blessed prayer shawl, they will be available after Masses this weekend.

Liturgical Ministry Volunteers Needed!
YOU are Christ's body and individually parts of it. (Corinthians 12:27)
PLEASE think about becoming more active in Jesus' Church!
If you are ready to add to the success of OUR church by joining our group of greeters, Eucharistic Ministers, lectors, choir members or altar servers, see the brochure for details (hard copies available at all church entrances). We offer training to get you started.
